UD Career Services Center redesigns service model, sets spring events
At the beginning of the 2016-17 academic year, the University of Delaware Career Services Center (CSC) redesigned its model of service for UD students and alumni.
Instead of simply offering major-specific career counseling and resources, students can now join career communities in their areas of interest by personalizing their Handshake accounts.
Through these communities, students receive tailored career counseling and coaching, have access to relevant career events, and learn about jobs, internships and other opportunities.
In addition, the CSC – in conjunction with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations – launched a new virtual platform called the UD Career Advising Network (UD CAN), powered by Firsthand. UD CAN is a powerful online tool that gives UD students and alumni the opportunity to connect and gain expert advice from alumni of the University.
Over 200 career programs, employer visits, networking events and career fairs will take place on campus this semester and thousands of jobs and internships will be shared with students, including the following events:
• Agricultural, Natural Resources and Environment Meetup, 5-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, Perkins Student Center. This networking event is open to all UD students and alumni who are interested in opportunities in agriculture, environmental and the natural resources industries.
