Newly renovated Russell Dining to reopen for fall semester

After undergoing renovations, Russell Dining at the University of Delaware will reopen on Saturday, Aug. 26, for lunch, with a fresh spin on this all-you-care-to-eat residential dining location. The eatery features restaurant-style service and food, an open floor plan and new café-style seating. Russell Dining is located in the Russell Complex on East Campus, next to the Harrington Turf.

The most striking change inside Russell will be its new centerpiece: a pizza oven, named the Hearth. The Hearth will feature handcrafted, fresh dough pizzas in artisanal varieties. The location will also offer increased selections of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as weekly rotisserie menu items, and will host the return of Le Mac and veggie bowls.

Russell Dining will join a host of other eateries on East Campus including Dunkin’ Donuts and The Scrounge food court in Perkins Student Center, as well as a P.O.D. (Provisions on Demand) Market and Subway in the Harrington Complex.

During Move-In Weekend, Russell will be open for lunch on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Additional special hours include brunch on Sunday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., as well as a continental breakfast from 9-10:30 a.m. and brunch from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28. Dinner will be served 5-7:30 p.m. on Sunday and 4:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday.

Beginning with classes on Tuesday, Aug. 29, Russell Dining will be open Monday through Friday for breakfast 7 a.m.-9:30 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Monday through Thursday for dinner 5-7:30 p.m. To-go meals also will be offered.

Russell also offers a weekly dining special where the UD community is invited to dine for $7 on Fridays at lunch. The special begins on Friday, Sept. 1, and continues through the semester at both Russell and Pencader Residential Dining locations.

On Friday, Sept. 22, UD Dining invites the University community to a Reopening Celebration, where guests are welcome to enjoy all-day giveaways, guest appearances by YoUDee, a DJ and more. Nutella French toast, Blue Hen chicken bowls and primavera pizza are some of the special entrees to be featured during the occasion.

Acceptable payment methods at Russell Residential Dining include meals, points, Flex, credit and cash. Please visit UD Dining’s website for the most up-to-date hours and information. Follow UD Dining (@DiningUD) on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to be the first to know about updates and special events.
