UD men's soccer team ranked No. 22 in NSCAA pollh

The University of Delaware men's soccer team is off to a 3-0 start that has brought national attention, with the Blue Hens ranked No. 22 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division I coaches poll.

UD garnered 118 total points and is one of 11 undefeated teams in the top 25.

"I am happy for our players in that their hard work thus far has paid off with a place amongst the best teams in the nation," said UD head coach Ian Hennessy. "I hope it can inspire them to push harder to keep climbing and use it as incentive for tomorrow night's game [at home against Iona]."

UD received votes in last week's poll but the Hens had not appeared in the top 25 since the 2014 season, when they were ranked as high as No. 11.

The Hens will face Iona at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Stuart and Suzanne Grant Stadium.
