UD Hillel announces Jewish High Holiday services, meals
University of Delaware Hillel has announced special services and meals from Sunday, Oct. 2, through Wednesday, Oct. 12, for the Jewish High Holidays. Students, parents, faculty and community members are all welcome to attend.
The evening of Sunday, Oct. 2, begins Rosh Hashanah, marking the start of the Jewish new year. Upon registration, students are welcome to attend High Holy Day services from Sunday night continuing into Tuesday morning, as well as Yom Kippur services.
Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, begins on a week later on Tuesday, Oct. 11, and continues into the following day until the evening. When registering, students will have the opportunity to attend meals after the services for the price of $13.45 per meal. Meals can be paid with meal points, meal swipes, or Flex on the day of the meal or by credit card in advance via Paypal.
Dinner will be available on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. at Hillel’s Kristol Center for Jewish Life following evening services. A Breaking of the Fast dinner will be served on Wednesday, Oct. 12, immediately following Havdallah services that will conclude Yom Kippur. The Break Fast will be held at the Kristol Center for Jewish Life and a special Break Fast for students will be held at Harrington Lounge.
