Blue Hen Leadership Program opener to feature Judson Laipply
The Blue Hen Leadership Program (BHLP) at the University of Delaware will host its kickoff presentation featuring Judson Laipply, award-winning speaker and inspirational comedian, at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, in Trabant Theater in the Trabant University Center.
BHLP is a national award-winning, four-tiered co-curricular leadership development program open to all students.
Laipply, YouTube sensation as creator of the “Evolution of Dance,” will give an inspirational keynote address on "The Paradoxes of Life" that is open to the University community.
In his speech, Laipply will discuss life's contradictions and paradoxes. His program reminds the audience of life's delicate balances, how at times one may have to do the opposite to achieve a desired result, make a change to move forward, fail to succeed, or forget to remember.
The more that is learned, according to Laipply, the more reality surfaces and people realize how little they know.
"I am so blessed to be able to do what I do. I get to combine my two favorite things in the world. I love to entertain and make people laugh," Laipply said. “I also love to help people grow and develop. I thrive on getting people to think about things, shift their perception, and hope that I might just be able to give them something to help make their life better. Combining those two on stage is just about as good as it gets."
Laipply promises to do two things during the presentation, make audience members laugh and make them think. And for the last seven years, his passion for both has entertained and educated audiences all over the world.
Laipply is an award-winning speaker and performer who utilizes a phenomenon labeled "inspirational comedy" to blend the realities of life with side-splitting humor.
