Parents and Family Weekend Comedy Show to feature Wayne Brady
Parents, family members and guests are invited to join their University of Delaware students for Parents and Family Weekend (PFW), a three-day celebration featuring multiple campuswide events to be held Oct. 7-9.
The PFW Comedy Show, an annual favorite, will feature Wayne Brady at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, in the Bob Carpenter Center. Tickets go on sale to all UD parents and family members for $20 on Monday, Aug. 1, at this site.
In addition to his extensive tenure on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Brady has headlined his own Emmy-winning talk show and also returned to his live theatre roots.
In recent years, fans have been able to catch him headlining the Broadway production of Chicago and Neil Patrick Harris’ production of Rent; singing his Grammy-nominated A Change is Gonna Come on his debut album; acting in films such as Crossover, Roll Bounce and Foodfight; and guest-hosting shows such as the NAACP Awards, BET Honors, The Late Late Show, and Let’s Make a Deal.
In addition to PFW traditions such as the Family Fest Tailgate and a Fightin’ Blue Hens football game, the weekend will also feature two new events in UD’s University Student Centers:
- Major Mania, on Friday, Oct. 7, from 2:30-4 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center, will enable students and families to connect with their college and learn more about the various resources available on campus while enjoying food and prizes with the University Studies Program and the Career Services Center.
- Student Life Café, on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9-10:30 a.m. on the patio at Perkins Student Center, will feature coffee and conversation with members of the senior leadership team and staff from UD’s Division of Student Life, which encompasses the University Student Centers and the Career Services Center as well as 9 other units designed to support students’ personal and academic success.
Details and updates on all PFW events will be posted to the website as they are available.
