TEP applications

Applications being accepted for 2017-18 Tuition Exchange Program

Tuition Exchange Program (TEP) applications for new scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year are now being accepted from University of Delaware faculty and staff members through the Educational Benefits web form.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, Oct. 26.

What participants need to know

Tuition Exchange is a program of exchange scholarships offered to University employees for their dependent children through Tuition Exchange Inc., a national consortium of more than 600 colleges and universities. Participating institutions grant the TEP scholarship, not Tuition Exchange Inc. and not the University of Delaware.

This means that submitting an application and subsequent acceptance to a participating school does not guarantee that a TEP scholarship will be awarded.

Who’s eligible

To participate in the TEP, UD employees must work full-time and have a minimum of two years of eligible University service as of Oct. 31 of the year in which they submit TEP applications. Eligible children are natural or legally adopted children who are financially dependent on their parents in accordance with IRS regulations.

This program may be used in conjunction with the University of Delaware's Tuition Remission program and counts toward the maximum two requests for that program.

How to apply

• Log in to web forms.

• Select “BEN Education Benefits.”

• In the menu choice, choose Tuition Exchange Program (Dependent children may apply

to one or more participating institutions). Additional schools may be selected by sending an email to hrhelp@udel.edu.

Lottery deadline, date, time, location

The deadline for lottery applications is Wednesday, Oct. 26.

A lottery of eligible staff (exempt and non-exempt) employees who have applied for the available TEP slots will be held at 12:15 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, in Room 130 of the General Services Building on South Chapel Street. It is not necessary to attend, but interested employees may do so.
