Winter and Summer Session attendance is optional. For the Winter session, educational costs are assessed and financial aid is determined along with Spring enrollment. In the Summer Session, educational costs and financial aid are determined separately from the standard Fall/Spring academic terms.

Students in the Associate in Arts Program taking classes at one of the AAP Academic Centers will be charged tuition for those classes at the prevailing AAP rates.  When taking classes on the Newark campus, AAP students will be charged the usual undergraduate rates shown in table above.

Some programs have higher or lower rates based on various factors, including competitive market research and demonstrated success at their existing price point. Federal Pell Grant (Undergraduate Student)

- If you have already received a financial aid package based on full-time enrollment for the spring term, registering for winter session will not result in additional Pell grant funding.


For students eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and enrolled less than 12 credit hours in the spring term, additional Pell grant funds may be available.

SFS will automatically review eligibility for students who have completed the FAFSA, are registered for the winter session, and who received Pell Grant funding during the proceeding semester.

 

Requires completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current academic year and other specific eligibility requirements.

Alternative Loans (Student, Possibly with Cosigner)

- Enrollment/eligibility and possible credit check requirements vary by lender.

Information on various alternative lender options, including links to loan applications, can be found at FASTChoice.
NJ residents are encouraged to also look at NJ Class Loan options.

Federal Direct Loan (including Graduate Student or Parent PLUS loans)

- Any courses taken during the winter session will be combined with spring registration to determine federal aid eligibility.   Annual federal direct loan aggregate limits will be reviewed to determine any increased loan eligibility.

Requires completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current academic year. 

Borrowers for PLUS loans must complete the PLUS application.

     Undergraduate:  1-11 credits in a single session
     Graduate:  1-8 credits in a single session
- Remaining loan eligibility after Fall/Spring Semester awarding
- Must be repaid

PLUS Loan (Graduate Student or Parent)

- At least half-time enrollment:
     Undergraduate: 1-11 credits in a single session
     Graduate:  1-8 credits in a single session
- Credit check requirements
