Built by innovators & entrepreneurs to make a better world, Horn provides mentoring, funding opportunities, competitions, collaborative workspace and hands-on programs for UD students, alumni, faculty, researchers and community members seeking to develop ideas, advance discoveries, address meaningful challenges and create real-world impact.
Horn is the cornerstone of the Neil Book School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, where the academic entrepreneurship programs are housed.

Horn Entrepreneurship provides hands-on, co-curricular experiences that help University of Delaware students build entrepreneurial skills by working on real ideas, ventures and challenges. Through mentoring, funding opportunities, venture competitions and programs designed for different stages of development, participants can explore possibilities, test concepts, develop ventures and move promising ideas toward real-world impact.
Entrepreneurial Community
Horn Entrepreneurship creates opportunities for students to connect, learn from one another and build lasting relationships across UD’s innovation ecosystem. Create Positive Change
Horn Entrepreneurship helps University of Delaware students explore how creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurial thinking can address social, cultural and environmental challenges. Through co-curricular programs, design challenges, field experiences, speakers and venture support, students can connect with changemakers, develop ideas and turn their interests into initiatives that create meaningful community impact.
Research Translation and Commercialization
Horn helps University of Delaware researchers, innovators and venture teams move discoveries toward real-world application. Programs and resources support participants as they investigate customer and market needs, identify potential uses, test commercialization assumptions and develop pathways for bringing technologies, products and services to market.
Youth and Educator Programs
Horn Entrepreneurship helps young people develop creativity, confidence, leadership and entrepreneurial thinking while equipping educators to bring innovation and design thinking into their schools. Programs connect students and educators locally and globally through hands-on experiences, competitions and professional learning.
Venture Development Center: Home of UD’s Entrepreneurial Community
The Venture Development Center is a collaborative workspace where University of Delaware students, alumni, faculty, researchers and community members can work on ideas, meet with mentors, access venture-development resources and participate in advising sessions, workshops and events.
