UD Faculty Affairs in partnership with units across campus such as the Center for Teaching and the Assessment of Learning, Academic Technology Services, Human Resources, and the Library,  among others, offers new faculty orientation twice during the academic year, once in August and again in January.

Both events are aimed at providing new faculty with an understanding of the UD academic environment, connecting them to resources and support services, and preparing them for teaching and interacting with students.  Summer NFO occurs in mid-August over two days, while Winter NFO is offered in January over a single day.

Both New Faculty Orientation events are supported by a comprehensive course site on Canvas, UD’s Learning Management System. When faculty are hired, they will be provided access to the New Faculty Orientation Canvas site for their first year at UD.  Additional workshops for New Faculty are available throughout the academic year through programming at the university, college, and unit level.
