- Research interests include using information technology to improve safe sharing of healthcare information between providers and patients, using technology options for patients to learn more about their health and wellness, and developing products to help older adults remain safely in their homes.
- Uses health care informatics to provide health information with the goals of improving quality of care, reducing errors, and improving access to care for persons of all ages, education, races and socioeconomic statuses.
- Uses consumer health care informatics research to improve access for people with limited health literacy, encourage social networking for those with chronic illnesses, and improve communication between health care providers and patients.
