Therapy Approach
Everyone goes through struggles at times. Everyone has strengths, as well. My approach in counseling is—to the best of my ability—make a connection with my client, understand their issues and work with them collaboratively to effectively manage and thrive in their lives. I value accepting what is going on for the person in the moment balanced with the need for change.
Supervision Approach
I believe personal and professional growth is ongoing throughout one’s life. My approach in supervision is collaborative and supervisee-centered within a developmental orientation. The supervision relationship and multicultural influences within that relationship are important, just as they are within the therapy relationship. What is the supervisee’s approach to therapy in general and when working with a particular client? How does my perspective mesh with theirs? How can I help them achieve their goals in supervision and move onto the next level in their professional development?
