Current Remediation Actions

Updated: Friday, June 28, 2024

Signed by President Dennis Assanis, the University of Delaware (UD) has entered an agreement with the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights (OCR) to ensure its programs, services, and activities communicated or facilitated online are accessible to people with disabilities. This includes resolving current digital accessibility compliance issues and demonstrating a commitment to future compliance.

Failure to adequately address accessibility compliance issues could result in significant action being taken against the University including but not limited to the loss of federal funding.

As part of the initial stage of this process, OCR asked UD to provide a list of approximately 50 websites, pages, and PDFs that serve as the first set of University Website Resources to be manually reviewed for accessibility compliance issues by August 15, 2024.

The next steps in this remediation process will be shared as they become available.
