Ancient Greek and Roman Studies
View our world through the eyes of the Ancient Greeks and Romans, inventors of theater, democracy, Civil law, and straight roads!
UD’s Ancient Greek and Roman Studies program allows students to immerse themselves in the cultures of Ancient Greece and Rome and trace their influence through history to the present day. Students study Classical languages and literatures in addition to art history and archaeology; economic, political, social and intellectual history; and philosophy, religion and myth. Ancient Greek and Roman Studies is naturally interdisciplinary, providing a unique experience for students with many different interests and intended career paths.
We offer the internationally recognized Global Seal of Biliteracy in Latin, a credential that showcases your language skills to employers and post-graduate institutions.

Ancient Greek and Roman Studies allows students to tailor their curriculum to their particular interests. Popular double majors with AGRS include Biology, Political Science, History, Philosophy, and Psychology. The structure of the program makes it an accessible companion with virtually all undergraduate degrees.
The AGRS program offers a 3-week study abroad in Greece every year in January. Here, students explore the rich legacy of the ancient Greek world against the backdrops of breathtaking archaeological wonders and the vibrant life of modern Athens.
