Chinese is spoken by over a billion people, but has no word for “yes”!
Experience a culture with a history of 5000 years. China is increasingly important and influential in global politics, business, and cultures. The business and professional communities highly value the ability to use Chinese and to employ knowledge about Chinese culture. Our graduates choose from various career paths: marketing, policy, education, government, and financial services; others go on to advanced degrees in preparation for work in international law, diplomacy, and college teaching. Common double majors include Chinese and Political Science, International Business, Asian Studies, and Neuroscience.
We offer the internationally recognized Global Seal of Biliteracy, a credential that showcases your language skills to employers.

Chinese study at the University of Delaware is part of a broad, multicultural education that is integral to success in many different fields in today’s global environment.
