Research activities
- Primary interest in the alpha-taxonomy of delphacid planthoppers (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Delphacidae), particularly of the New World. More broadly interested in the taxonomy, biodiversity, host relations, and biogeography of planthoppers.
- Director of University of Delaware Insect Reference Collection. The University of Delaware collection contains ca. 350,000 pinned specimens plus ~500 slides and ~2,500 alcohol specimens. I am responsible for all aspects of the collection including outgoing and incoming loans, accessions, visitors, curation, and general organization.
