The college offers more than 20 programs related to science, technology, business and economics within our four academic departments — Animal and Food Sciences, Applied Economics and Statistics, Entomology and Wildlife Ecology; and Plant and Soil Sciences. In addition, our college is home to the University of Delaware's Cooperative Extension program.
Animal and Food Sciences
We offer a wide range of disciplines including virology, physiology, nutrition, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, engineering, and genomics. Our research addresses contemporary and future scientific challenges by using cutting edge technologies with the goal of assisting stakeholders in the poultry, livestock, and food industries.
Applied Economics and Statistics
Our diverse, nationally-known faculty conduct extensive and coordinated programs in undergraduate and graduate education, cutting-edge research, and public outreach in many vital areas including Natural Resource Management; Environmental and Resource Economics; Agricultural Policy; Food and Agribusiness Marketing and Management; International Trade; Operations Research and Decision Analysis; and Statistical Analysis and Research Methods.
Entomology and Wildlife Ecology
Our department offers outstanding academic programs for undergraduate and graduate students preparing for careers in entomology, ecology and wildlife conservation. Our teaching, research and extension efforts emphasize whole-organism biology, conservation biology and the interactions between humans and other species.
Plant and Soil Sciences
We offer excellent teaching, research, and outreach programs in the areas of plant biology (cellular, genetics, genomics, microbial, molecular and physiology), agronomy (including pathology, soil management, and weed science), horticulture (sustainable landscapes, fruits, and vegetables), landscape architecture, and environmental soil sciences (biogeochemistry, hydrology, and plant-soil interactions). We have a distinguished faculty, known nationally and internationally for their research and outreach, and within UD for their excellence in teaching, advising and mentoring students.
