The 170th Commencement Ceremonies for the University of Delaware which graduated the Class of 2019. The commencement speaker was Matt Nagy, a UD alum from the class of 2001 and the first UD alumnus to earn a head coaching position in the National Football League, becoming head coach of the Chicago Bears in 2018.

Kennedi Avent, daughter of University of Delaware alumna Tonya Avent, receives physical therapy from Greg Seymour for a torn PCL. Avent travels to the Delaware PT Clinic from her home in New Jersey on a monthly basis for progress benchmarks.

Aditya Kunjapur, a new assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, has been named to the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security’s Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Initiative fellowship program in 2019. He works with graduate students Sabyasachi (Sunny) Sen and Morgan Sulzbach in his lab in Colburn using the latest pipette techniques with gels. (Releases obtained on all participates.)

Rebecca Vitelli is a teacher at Colonial District's Colwyck Center and is the 2020 Delaware Teacher of the Year. She received two degrees from the University of Delaware: a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education and Master of Education with a concentration in children with autism and severe disabilities.

Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Jack Puleo studies how sand dunes erode during extreme waves and storm surges. He and several of his students have been constructing wave flumes which model the land / shore interaction and delivering them to 12 schools across the Mid-Atlantic. - (Evan Krape / University of Delaware)
