Integrated Health Sciences
The Integrated Health Sciences major equips students with essential knowledge and skills in biological, behavioral, and nutritional sciences to foster healthy lifestyles and overall well-being. The major is designed for those pursuing careers in health sciences or advanced studies in fields such as Occupational Therapy, accelerated Nursing, or Public Health. The Integrated Health Sciences major features a comprehensive curriculum complemented by a variety of elective courses. This structure allows students to pursue a minor of their choice or tailor their coursework to match their career goals and further educational aspirations.
The Integrated Health Sciences major also offers a Pre-Occupational Therapy concentration as part of a 3+3 program with Thomas Jefferson University, resulting in both a BS in Integrated Health Sciences from UD and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Thomas Jefferson University (TJU). Students in the Integrated Health Sciences major may apply to the OTD program at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) after completion of the 3rd semester of the BS in Integrated Health Sciences at UD. If accepted into the TJU OTD program, students will be admitted into the BS in Integrated Health Sciences - Pre-Occupational Therapy Concentration at UD.

The Integrated Health Sciences major is ideal for students interested in pursuing careers in the health sciences and healthcare. Students have numerous opportunities to engage with research, healthcare- or clinically-related experiential learning and volunteer opportunities in a variety of settings. This major includes 27 elective credits to allow students to combine coursework in biological, behavioral and nutritional sciences with other academic areas of interest such as public health, exercise science, psychology, communication, and leadership. Students interested in pursuing a career in Occupational Therapy may apply to the 3+3 Doctorate in Occupational Therapy Program at Thomas Jefferson University.
