Volunteer Shout-Outs - December 2024
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations relies on a team of dedicated Blue Hen volunteers to strengthen the connections between alumni, students and the University through a variety of programs and events. Volunteers' many contributions include planning and helping to lead regional, affinity and reunion events, offering mentorship and professional development opportunities to students and serving as proud ambassadors of UD.
Here, we regularly spotlight volunteers who enhance the UD experience for students and alumni.
December 2024 Spotlights: Kayla Krenitsky, ANR15, Andrea White-Collins, HS80
Kayla Krenitsky, ANR15
"Now as a volunteer, I can give back to the university that gave me so much."
Kayla Krenitsky’s dedication to UD began during her time as a student when she supported the Office of Development and Alumni Relations as a UD Student Alumni Ambassador.
She is an enthusiastic volunteer who is actively engaged in supporting the University of Delaware community. Krenitsky currently serves as a Regional Blue Hen Ambassador for the New Castle County Blue Hen Network and is a 10th Reunion Ambassador, working to plan the Class of 2015's celebration during Alumni Weekend, scheduled for June 6–8, 2025. Previously, she contributed as a Reunion Ambassador for her 5th reunion in 2020.
As an alumna, Krenitsky achieved the milestone of completing the “Gold” portion of the UD Bucket List, creating lifelong memories that celebrate her UD pride!
Fun Fact:
“I’m an artist, and sometimes make UD-themed art.”
Why she gives back to UD:
“Being involved as an SAA and interacting with alumni at events showed me all the wonderful opportunities I would have as an alum. I knew that I would stay involved with UD after I graduated. Now as a volunteer, I can give back to the university that gave me so much.”
Andrea White-Collins, HS80
"Connecting with alumni who share similar fond memories keeps me connected to the alma mater that holds a dear place in my heart."
Andrea White-Collins is a passionate and committed Regional Ambassador for the Phoenix Blue Hen Network, a role she has embraced since 2015. Over the years, she has played a vital role in fostering a strong alumni community by organizing numerous events. In the first half of 2025 alone, White-Collins has planned five events in the Phoenix area, demonstrating her dedication to creating meaningful connections among alumni.
Beyond event planning, White-Collins has been instrumental in growing the network by recruiting fellow alumni to join as Regional Ambassadors, helping keep the Blue Hen community active and thriving in Phoenix.
Her devotion to the University of Delaware shines through not only in her contributions of time and talent but also in her philanthropy, as she proudly supports the university as a True Blue Hen donor.
Favorite UD Memory:
“Most of my favorite memories of UD revolve around life in Dickinson C, as well as on the Lacrosse field with my teammates.”
