Volunteer Shout-Outs - October 2023

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations relies on a team of dedicated Blue Hen volunteers to strengthen the connections between alumni, students and the University through a variety of programs and events. Volunteers' many contributions include planning and helping to lead regional, affinity and reunion events, offering mentorship and professional development opportunities to students and serving as proud ambassadors of UD.

Here, we regularly spotlight volunteers that enhance the UD experience for students and alumni.

"Coming back to campus and interacting with the spirit teams truly gives me such joy."

As a UD student, Pam was the captain of the Delaware Dance Team, and continued her leadership and involvement after graduation by assisting the start-up of the YoUDee Spirit Alumni Association. She currently serves as the President of this affinity. Not only does Pam dedicate her time to the YoUDee Spirit Alumni Association but she also periodically returns to campus and attends the Dance Team’s practices. This alumni group, in conjunction with UD Athletics, led multiple giving projects during IHUDD. Pam shares her time and talents as a volunteer, and she also supports the University financially by being a True Blue Hen!

Let us hear from Pam as to why she gives back to UD:

I feel enthusiasm for Delaware not only on campus, but also when someone shouts "Go Hens!" when they see me wearing UD gear. Specifically, as an alumna of the spirit program, I have a passion for spreading school spirit and continue to enjoy being a part of the energy and growth of the program. Coming back to campus and interacting with the spirit teams truly gives me such joy.
