Staff Spotlight: Marianne Lazarski, BE92

As UD alumni, you meet a variety of UD staff members to help you with career and professional development, to reconnect you with your alma mater and to provide many other resources and benefits. Here, meet Marianne Lazarski, BE92, who ensures that each class in a reunion year has a great celebration—whether they’re virtual or in person.

What’s your favorite UD memory?
My favorite UD memories are the amazing experiences I had during Winter Session 1991 while traveling abroad in Lyon, France. I met new friends, experienced new cultures and made memories that I will always treasure.

Favorite UD or Main Street meal?
Deer Park nachos and Margarita’s Pizza. I also enjoyed dining on campus at the Abbey (now Daugherty Hall) and The Amber Lantern (was in Pencader).

When will recent grads most likely hear from you?
I'm all about bringing people together and helping them stay connected. I support alumni special interest groups (affinities) like ROTC, Spirit Team, Nursing Grads, and Greek organizations just to name a few, as well as all our Class Reunions. If you are a senior look for me to reach out when the Class of 2021 is celebrating their 5th Reunion (in 2026)!

What is your best piece of advice for the Class of 2021?
Here are a few pieces of advice that stand out to me:

  • Take one day at a time
  • Don’t be afraid to take risks and challenge yourself.
  • Put yourself outside of your comfort zone.
  • Be proud of your accomplishments and be kind to others.
  • You are only young once, enjoy your journey!
