A Hub for scientific connections
Progress is made when people come together. Tomorrow’s breakthroughs will be made in spaces of cross-disciplinary connectivity, and UD students and faculty are forging this future together.
Building X will be an interdisciplinary hub of collaboration and discovery, bringing together scholars and researchers from across campus to teach, train and research in modern labs with cutting-edge equipment.
Building X will feature:
A centralized, multidisciplinary space for connection and innovation
An open lab format to promote collaboration within and across labs
Mixed-use spaces for teaching and research, bringing students closer to advanced faculty research
NAMING OPPORTUNITIES - DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT
Thanks to several generous supporters, future donors will receive an opportunity to double their impact. With $6 million available in matching funds, donors will have an opportunity to double their impact, as all gifts of $12,500 or more (pledged over five years or fewer) will receive a 1:1 matching contribution.
At different levels of giving, donors will receive the opportunity to name faculty offices, laboratories, meeting rooms, and other critical spaces.

Bringing together Biological Sciences, Psychology, Neuroscience and Physics, Building X will accelerate breakthroughs at UD, including:
Using advanced laser technology to probe the relationship between light and matter
Finding the underlying causes of Alzheimer's Disease and improving patients' prognoses
Examining the neural and motivational causes of substance abuse, enhancing treatments for people struggling with addiction
