Faculty, Staff celebrated with Excellence Awards at All College meeting
Each spring, the College of Health Sciences Faculty and Staff Excellence Awards recognize the outstanding contributions of faculty and staff, highlighting the dedication and innovative spirit that drive CHS forward.
Sheau Ching Chai, Associate Professor of Health Behavior and Nutrition Sciences and Chair of the Awards Committee, stressed the importance of recognizing excellence on all levels.
"When people feel appreciated, they are more likely to be engaged, productive, and committed to their roles,” Chai said. “These awards inspire us to strive for continuous improvement and impact in our respective fields and contribute to advancing the college and the wider community."
The 2024 winners were announced at the Spring All College Meeting on May 17.
"Recognizing the exceptional contributions of our dedicated staff and faculty through these excellence awards not only highlights their achievements but also underscores our collective commitment to fostering innovation and academic excellence,” said CHS Dean Bill Farquhar. “These awards celebrate the tireless efforts and unwavering passion that continue to move the College forward.”
2024 Winners:
Excellence in Teaching Award: David Ebaugh, Professor of Physical Therapy and Director of the Human Anatomy Lab
Excellence in Service Award: Nancy Getchell, Professor of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology
Excellence in Student Advisement/Mentoring Award: Paula Melancon, Instructor in the Department of Medical and Molecular Sciences (MMSC) and Director of Clinical Education for MMSC
Excellence in Research (Assistant Professor) Award: Vijay Parashar, Assistant Professor of Medical and Molecular Sciences
Excellence in Research (Associate/Full Professor) Award: Mona Batish, Associate Professor of Medical and Molecular Sciences
Excellence in Mentorship of Faculty Award: Dave Edwards, Unidel Katherine L. Esterly Chair in Health Sciences and Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology
Diversity Advocate Award: Ellen Wruble, Associate Professor of Physical Therapy and Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
Excellence in Clinic/Academics (Staff) Award: Lauren Camphausen, Assistant Director of the Master of Public Health in Epidemiology
Excellence in Administrative/Operations (Staff) Award: Brie Rivera, Administrative Specialist in the Department of Physical Therapy
