Pricing


Below are the prices for the Intensive English Program (IEP). There are several program options:

  • Full program (2 months, 18 hours/week)
  • Half-session (1 month, 18 hours/week)
  • Delaware resident prices


About the prices

  • All prices are in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice.
  • 2024-2025 prices are effective from August 21, 2024.

Important note about insurance: All students are required to purchase the ELI’s health insurance plan unless they are sponsored by a governmental organization or in a special authorized short-term program. Students may not purchase their own insurance policy to replace the ELI’s plan. Health insurance fees are non-refundable.

*Note about the 4-month price: Applicants who enroll in two sessions (approximately 4 months) AND prepay the tuition and fees for both sessions will receive a tuition discount. Tuition is non-refundable if students do not continue in the second session.

**The Student Wellbeing fee is lower for Session 5 ($135) and Session 6 ($90).

***The International Service Fee supports essential services such as immigration advising, processing of documents, regulatory reporting, and other acculturation programs and resources. Additionally, it covers the cost of maintaining institutional compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, and Department of Labor regulations.

Some additional fees may apply, including:
 

Item Description
Airport Transfer fee: $100 – $200
  • These fees must be paid if the ELI arranges transportation for the student from the Philadelphia International Airport to Newark, Delaware.
  • Delaware Express (standard shuttle pick-up): Normally, the charge is $50; however, late-night pick-ups may cost $90. For questions, please contact eli-housing@udel.edu.
Late Orientation/Arrival fee: $100
  • Students must pay this fee only if they miss one of the designated Orientation days. All students are required to attend all days of ELI Orientation, as marked on their acceptance letter and in the documents that the student will receive when they arrive for Orientation.
Late Housing fee: $100
  • Students must pay this fee only if they do not meet the ELI’s deadlines for arranging housing (as listed in their acceptance documents).
Late Payment fee: $50
  • Students must pay this fee if they do not pay the entire amount listed on their bill before the date written on the bill.

 

Delaware residentS


Many Delaware residents are eligible to receive substantial tuition discounts for ELI courses. In order to qualify, you must:

  • Be a permanent resident of the U.S. (green card holder) or a U.S. citizen; AND
  • Have been a permanent resident or U.S. citizen for at least one year; AND
  • Have lived in the state of Delaware for at least one year (i.e., the year prior to the start date of the program).

If you meet these criteria and can provide proof, then you may qualify for special pricing for Delaware residents.
