Undergraduate Programs
The Department of Theatre and Dance offers a Theatre Studies major and an array of minors designed to inspire student's exploration of theatre and dance as well as deepen their appreciation for the performing arts. From performance, to production and the traditional stage, to the healthcare field, the Department of Theatre and Dance has a program for every theatrical interest.
Our undergraduate major
UD students Diane Counts, Amanda Herpel, Charlotte Kalilec, Esha Shah and Jenny Ziegler performed as the chorus in the spring 2023 REP production of the Euripides’ Greek tragedy “Medea.”
Broad-based curriculum: Students gain a strong foundation in various aspects of theatre, including acting, directing, playwriting, design and theatre history.
Hands-on experience: The program emphasizes practical training through participation in productions, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings.
- Interdisciplinary approach: Theatre Studies majors have the opportunity to explore connections between theatre and other disciplines, fostering a well-rounded education.
