Our Minors

Our Minors

The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Delaware offers an array of minors designed to inspire students' exploration of theatre and dance and deepen their appreciation for the performing arts. From performance to production and the traditional stage to the healthcare field, there is a program for every theatrical interest.

About the Dance Minor

A minor in dance is available for students who have an interest in dance and want a concentration of study in this area to complement their education and career goals. Flexible and adaptable, the dance minor provides students the opportunity to study a variety of coursework including technique, composition & choreography, and elective choices in the historical, cultural, pedagogical, and somatic areas of dance.

Dance minor students receive a comprehensive dance education that includes opportunities to perform, choreograph, research, and teach in school and community settings.

A unique aspect of this program is an interdisciplinary capstone project. Students create projects that combine their dance interest with content from their major course of study.
