Postdoc positions in the Jayaraman Group

July 2021

  • Description: Two postdoctoral researcher positions are currently available in the research group of Prof. Arthi Jayaraman in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at University of Delaware. Postdocs in the Jayaraman group gain experience in applying computational techniques to establish molecular design-structure-dynamics relationships in polymers and biomaterials. Specifically, in the current open position(s), the postdoctoral researcher will work on one or more of the following: a) development and use of coarse-grained models for polymers, b) PRISM theory, c) computational scattering tools (CREASE) developed in the Jayaraman group, and d) machine learning. Successful candidates should have a PhD in chemical engineering/materials science & engineering/physics/chemistry and must have experience with molecular modeling (atomistic and/or coarse-grained) and theory or molecular dynamics simulations on polymers/soft materials. Prior experience with scattering techniques or machine learning algorithms is viewed favorably but not a requirement. The position is for one year and renewable for additional years, according to the standard terms of postdoctoral researcher contracts at University of Delaware, including benefits and a competitive salary based on qualifications; the start date for these positions is a candidate's preferred start date between Sept 1, 2021 and Dec 1, 2021.

  • How to Apply: Interested candidates with the required expertise and background should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and names and contact information of at least three references in an email directly to Prof. Arthi Jayaraman
