  • Interdisciplinary neuroscience Ph.D. student Sara Penuela Rodriguez is wearing goggles as she administers infrared laser therapy through a touchscreen computer to study participant Tim Hihn who's shown in the background wearing a helmet iwth sensors eqipped to it to the deliver the light. The study is blind and it's unclear whether Hihn is receiving the laser therapy or a placebo.

    Researchers in UD's Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology are studying whether infrared laser therapy, or photobiomodulation, can be used to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

  • Interim dean named for College of Health Sciences

    Jillian Trabulsi, chair of the University of Delaware’s Department of Health Behavior and Nutrition Sciences since 2021, has been named interim dean of the College of Health Sciences, President Dennis Assanis and Provost Laura Carlson announced today. Trabulsi will serve as interim dean as Bill Farquhar, current dean of the College, steps into the interim provost role, effective July 1.

Featured Program

The University of Delaware had two female athletic training students interning for NFL teams – the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams – during the summer of 2019. The UD Athletic Training department in the College of Health Sciences has had students accepted to NFL internships for years, but female ATs as NFL interns are on the rise. To top it off, UD has nine current athletic trainers working for NFL teams. Those alumni have been critical in helping to provide internship opportunities for current students.
