I am the founding director of the Center for Science, Ethics, and Public Policy at the University of Delaware and a faculty member of the Philosophy Department and the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration. My research spans several areas of ethics in science and engineering and the philosophy of technology, with a focus on information technology. I've published on topics such as the ethics of artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, virtual worlds, artificial agents, and human-robot interaction. At UD I am affiliated with the Delaware Biotechnology Institute, the Data Science Institute, the Delaware Environmental Institute, the Sociotechnical Systems Center, and the Center for Autonomous and Robotics Systems. I've held visiting research positions at the Laboratoire d'Informatique at the Sorbonne University, Paris, and the Universitat de les Illes Balears in Palma, Spain.
