Transportation to the University
- By Air
The closest airport to our campus is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Alternatively, one can also use Newark LIberty International Airport (EWR) or Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI).
- To/From PHiladelphia Airport
Unfortunately, the public transportation to/from our campus is rather bad. The most convenient is to hire a shuttle at Delaware Express. The cost is $43 + tip one way.
For public transportation die-hards: It is possible to come to campus by using SEPTA, but it takes a lot of time! Option 1: You take Lint 1 towards Philadelphia (every 30 minutes), get off at University City, and take R2 to Newark. Cost: $14. Option 2: Take Septa bus 37 towards Chester Transportation Center, get off at the end, and take R2 to Newark. Cost: $8. However, R2 trains come all the way to Newark only early in the morning and in the evening. Otherwise, you need to get off at Wilmington. Here is R2 schedule. From options from Wilmington to Newark, see 'By Train' section.
- To/From Newark and Baltimore-Washington Airports
Amtrak serves these airports, and you can come as close as Wilmington. Cost: Varies, based on availability. Check Amtrak's website for latest information. (See below).
- By Train
Most of the Amtrak trains stop at Wilmington. From Wilmington station, you can either switch to Septa Train (only early in the morning and in the evening) or take DART Bus. Here is the schedule.
- By Car
The driving instruction can be found in the university's website: Here.
Accommodation
- Coutyard by Marriott
The university's official accommodation. But it is rather pricy; about $180 per night.
- Super 8 Motel
This one is the closest to campus. About $80 per night. Basic, no-frill rooms.
- Sleep Inn
The next closest is about 20-25 minute walk to the workshop site. There are some campus bus service nearby. About $88 per night. The rooms are supposedly better than Motel 8. It is likely that we can provide transportation to/from this hotel to the conference.
- Homewood Suites
Right next to Sleep Inn. They have gotten good reviews, and the price varies from $105-150 per night. Just like Sleep Inn, you can most likely arrange transportation to/from workshop site.
- Embassy Suites
Another 'suite' hotel, right next to Homewood. (In other words, the last three hotels are right next to each other.) $20-30 more than Homewood (so, $125-170). Transportation can be arranged.
