Re: Project DELTA
Wow! It has been awhile. How are Ed and Penny! I remember the Bob
Mader!
History:
After leaving Northeastern Univ in Boston, I moved to Richmond Virginia
where I worked on HP3000 systems with Media General. After that I went
to work for the County of Chesterfield Government. I was responsible for
development and maintenace of the Real Estate Property and pre-billing
system. I worked in that area for 4 years doing CICS and COBOL coding.
I then moved to head up the Personal Computer area, handling all the PC's
located in the county as it related to testing, purchasing, maintenance
contracts, and custom departmental coding. From there I went to work the
State of Virginia doing work with the Governors Employment and Training
Division. Here I was responable for reconfiguring, setting up and
reprogramming the state wide Employment and Training hardware and
software. I got tired of the somewhat questionable legal issues at the
department and left. For the last 10 years I have been working for
NationsBank (BankAmerica) in Richmond. I worked in application
development for 8 years and now work in systems. I work on the Capacity
and Planning area of Resource Management dealing with DASD and Tape usage
across about 10,000 mips of processing and 40 tarabytes of dasd. I work
with mainframe connectivitly to OS/2 and Windows 95 servers using TCP/IP
Fiber, Coax, and twisted pair, yada yada yada.
For the last 12 years I have also had my own consulting company that
sells custom computer systems, software, and upgrades. I also own Micro
Concepts Web Services that hosts sites for companies around the county.
You can see my company site at www.microconcepts.net and www.mcws.net.
If you want to see personal pictures, you can go to www.mcws.net/~jimbo
or my webcam site at webcam.mcws.net.
I have been married to Annie for 15 years and have a 7 year old son named
Jeffrey, a daughter 11 years old called Brittany. I also have a 10 year
old grand-daughter called Coosas Magic Touch. Magic is about 1100 lbs
and stands around 15.1. You can see her at the site I host for Brittanys
4H club at 4h.mcws.net Select photo album from this url to see picture
of Magic and Brittany.
I still have all my old DEC PDP 11/45 and 11/70 manuals in the attic. I
also have some 1975 (ouch!) microtape... remember the 1-2" tapes reals??
I thing I still have documentation on the Jobs for Delaware Graduates
also, as well as all the SYS system calls, etc, etc.
If you need a place to host the Deltos site, let me know. I can quickly
create delta.mcws.net and supply u with logon and ftp access. It is a
Unix box that I use for my server.
