For those who really want to play with the Lego Mindstorms Robotics Kit,
there is a C compiler out for the machine.  Admittidly there are some
limitations as
the CPU has no stack..

Interesting things you can do with one (and I have):

Power cycle your modem when the line drops.
Sort Legos by color. (shade)
Chase a flashlight. (great fun for my 2 year old)
