I took a look in source5 in the delta account and saw how someone (Gary?)
had updated the simulator to accept IPC messages from a little program named
rsts.
It seems that if you start the simulator using a startup script, it will
detach itself and run in this mode where it accepts input from the rsts
program.
I may have some of the details wrong, but I am not yet fully up to speed on
it.
