welcome to the University of Delaware!

Orientation & Transition Programs (OTP) provides students and families with the tools they need to explore UD’s offerings, access important resources, learn about a wide range of activities and programs and discover what it means to be a Fightin’ Blue Hen.

To ensure your successful transition to UD, this site has information about OTP and the University, including important tasks you’ll need to complete before arriving on campus.

New Student Orientation

NSO covers important topics such as student life, academics and course registration, safety and wellbeing. During your orientation you will meet your new classmates, learn about your college and interact with the orientation staff.

Students will receive information on deadlines and to-do items in their UD email. Important information about how to register for orientation components will be posted in My Blue Hen Home.

Family Orientation

The Blue Hen Family Hub provides orientation content and other information and resources to the families of new UD students. Family members are invited to join the Hub via email prior to the start of their student’s first semester at UD.

You must sign up for the Blue Hen Family Hub in order to receive the weekly Family Orientation emails and to register for individual virtual sessions. These sessions cover specific topics such as residence life and housing, dining, student financial services and campus safety and will be offered throughout the summer.

The entire Orientation and Transition Programs team is committed to making your orientation experience as meaningful as possible and to prepare your student to be a successful Blue Hen. If you have any questions, contact us at otp@udel.edu.
