Celebrate Parents and Family Weekend at a comedy show
Looking for a laugh? James “Murr” Murray from the Impractical Jokers will be doing an interactive comedy show at Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center on Friday, September 27 from 8–10 p.m. to kick off Parents and Family Weekend. Listen as Murr tells funny stories and shows never before seen clips from his hit TV show. Tickets are selling fast so hurry to get your tickets today before they are gone.
Cheer on the Blue Hens at a football game
Don’t miss the Delaware Football vs. Sacred Heart game on Saturday, September 28 from 3:30–6:30 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.
Go apple picking at Milburn Orchards
For some fall fun—including apple picking, hayrides and corn mazes—look into making your way over to Milburn Orchards in Elkton, Maryland. Online tickets are required for entry and can be purchased on the Milburn Orchards website.
Take a road trip to Chesapeake City, Maryland
Looking to get out of Delaware for the day? Check out lunch and dinner spots in Chesapeake City, just a short drive away from campus. Some restaurants, including The Bayard House, Schaefer’s Canal House and the Chesapeake Inn Restaurant & Marina offer great views of Back Creek while dining. Stop by small shops and take a sweater along for a stroll as the weather gets cooler.
Relax at the Newark Reservoir
If you are searching for a quiet spot near campus, check out the Newark Reservoir. Walking distance from Main Street just north of campus, it’s the perfect place to picnic and enjoy the scenic views of the water and surrounding trees as the leaves start to change color.
Have scary fall fun at Frightland
If you’re looking for a scare this spooky season look no further than Frightland located in Middletown, Delaware. Grab your friends and take the haunted hayride through the woods leading you to different haunted house walkthroughs, or enjoy carnival attractions. Opening weekend is September 27–28! Make sure to reserve your tickets online through the Frightland website to hold your spot for this haunted adventure.
