Therapy Approach

My psychotherapeutic approach is strongly existential and humanistic. I can help you explore your deepest beliefs and fundamental worldview, as well as identify and resolve any inner conflicts. My goal is to assist you in becoming a whole person and who you really are. I will challenge you to have the existential courage to accept your responsibility for creating a meaningful life. Meanwhile, I will strive to empathize with you to your core and provide a safe and secure base from which to explore yourself and the ways in which you relate to others and the world. I will work to radically accept who you are, connect with your humanity from my own and walk with you on your journey of healing, self-discovery and personal growth. To this end, it is my goal to help you connect your past, present and possible futures through a narrative approach, and I can teach you cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness skills to enhance your sense of freedom and control as you work toward making sense of your suffering, creating meaning from it and realizing your ideal self.

Supervision Approach

My supervision style is also existential-humanistic but focused on a developmental approach that supports the supervisee to realize their full, latent potential as a clinician. I want you to bring your whole person into the room, trusting that I will provide a safe foundation for you to experiment with your therapist identity as you learn to align it with your personal identity. I will encourage you to take risks and make mistakes so that we can gently explore your strengths and weaknesses, tailoring supervision to enhance the former while taking advantage of the latter for personal and professional growth. I can share with you my knowledge about existential, humanistic, narrative and cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches, but insofar as interpersonal relationships are a vehicle for change for you and your clients, we will also explore the interpersonal dynamics between us so that you might carry those insights into your clinical work and growth areas.
