Therapy Approach
My approach to therapy is foundationally client-centered, while integrating various other therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, emotion-focused and mental skills. I view therapy as a collaborative, feedback informed and individualized process, whereby interventions are tailored to the unique needs and goals of clients. I also utilize a relational and strength based approach, and value humor when appropriate.
Supervision Approach
My approach to supervision is being a mentor and advocate to assist in supervisee's growth, training and professional development as a therapist. I strive to provide a supportive and collaborative space, in which we can discuss supervisee's experiences with the clients they serve, and identify strengths and areas of growth. I acknowledge that training to be a therapist can be a challenging experience, and as such, I value the growth mindset. We all make mistakes, and our willingness to lean into and learn from them is where a large portion of our growth occurs.
