Therapy Approach
As a therapist, I use a heavily integrative approach as I believe therapy practice should be tailored to the individual needs of the client. My work borrows from acceptance and commitment therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and Adlerian approaches. I always incorporate person-centered practice and consider cultural factors throughout my work. When appropriate, I find humor to be a valuable addition to the therapy space.
Supervision Approach
I use the developmental model of supervision with trainees to help them discover and adapt their therapeutic approach based on their current level of proficiency. Through cultivating a supervisory space defined by trust, respect and safety, I work to build my trainee’s confidence in their skills. I believe supervision is a two-way street, and as such I value both providing and receiving feedback in pursuit of professional and personal growth.
