In-Person Simulation Training

January 22 - 24, 2025, at McDowell Hall & Tower at STAR

 

This three-day comprehensive interactive course provides hands-on simulation training aligned with the Healthcare Standards of Best Practice and the Society of Simulation in Healthcare. Participants will engage in innovative simulation-based experiences utilizing Healthcare Theatre and Human Patient Simulators.  Participants will also receive access to four asynchronous, virtual courses two weeks prior to the in person training.  This continuing education activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association to award contact hours. The Ohio Nurses Association is an Ohio Board of Nursing approver of continuing education. (OBN-001-91)

The mission of the University of Delaware’s Center for Simulation Innovation, Interdisciplinary Education, and Entrepreneurship (CSIIDEE) is to provide state of the art experiential learning opportunities for students in the College of Health Sciences and its community partners through deliberate practice, innovative multimodal simulation-based experiences, and patient-centered interprofessional collaborative practice.

The UD CSIIDEE aspires to become a national leader in simulation education and research to prepare the healthcare workforce of the future. CSIIDEE is accredited by the Society of Simulation in Healthcare in Teaching and Education

Healthcare Theatre
 

Healthcare Theatre is a unique interdisciplinary education program at the University of Delaware that develops the communication skills necessary of current and future professionals through interactive scenarios presented by Healthcare Theatre students.

With this transformative approach to education students are trained to portray patients and family members so that health sciences students can practice both technical and interpersonal skills in a safe environment without compromising quality of care. The mission of Healthcare Theatre is to combine the science of healthcare with the art of communication by creating live, standardized encounters, empowering all participants to grow both personally and professionally.
