Roselle Center for the Arts (CFA) 
 

​The Roselle Center for the Arts (CFA) houses five distinct venues that are primarily used by the School of Music and the Resident Ensemble Players.

Although in heavy use by the two units, venues in the CFA may be rented by external organizations when space is available.

Gore Recital Hall

Gore Recital Hall

The Gore Recital Hall is one of the main performance venues used by the University of Delaware Department of Music. Gore Recital Hall is an intimate, elegant space perfect for a solo performance, small-ensemble performance or a lecture series.

Puglisi Orchestra Hall 

​A versatile space, Puglisi Orchestra Hall hosts performances by the UD Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, along with select guest artists and special events, with theatre-style seating.

Thompson Theatre

​Home to the University of Delaware Resident Ensemble Players, Thompson Theatre also hosts Convocation and Presidential events, and University of Delaware Opera Theatre spring productions.

Driving Directions

From the north: 

  • Take I-95 South to Delaware Exit 1-B — Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. 
  • Continue straight on South College Avenue for approximately two miles. 
  • Continue going straight through the intersection of South College Avenue and Park Place. 
  • At the light at the intersection of South College and Kent Way, turn left. 
  • At the stop sign turn right onto Orchard Road.
  • Turn left at the stop sign onto Amstel Avenue.
  • Take the next left into the Center for the Arts Parking Garage.

From the south:

  • Take I-95 North to Delaware Exit 1 — Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. 
  • Continue straight on South College Avenue for approximately two miles. 
  • Continue going straight through the intersection of South College Avenue and Park Place. 
  • At the light at the intersection of South College and Kent Way, turn left. 
  • At the stop sign turn right onto Orchard Road.
  • Turn left at the stop sign onto Amstel Avenue.
  • Take the next left into the Center for the Arts Parking Garage.

From the west: 

  • Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Route 283 South. 
  • Continue on Route 283 South, which becomes Route 30 East outside of Lancaster, to Route 896 South. 
  • As you approach Newark, follow Route 896 South (New London Road), turning right on Hillside Road and then left on W. Main Street. 
  • As you reach campus and cross the railroad tracks, veer right as Route 896 becomes Elkton Road. 
  • At the intersection of Elkton Road and Amstel Avenue, turn right. 
  • Take the second right into the Center for the Arts Parking Garage entrance.

 

For GPS systems: 

  • Enter 130 Amstel Avenue, Newark, DE, 19716 in the GPS.

Music Practice Rooms



While not a separate venue, our practice rooms on the second floor of the Center for the Arts and the first floor of Amy E. du Pont are open only to music majors and minors, and students registered for large ensembles.

Eligible students are granted access via key or a swipe card system during the first few days of the fall semester.
