Research Interests
My research involves developing, testing, and refining models for continuously improving mathematics teaching and learning in the context of undergraduate mathematics courses. In this context, I investigate relationships between mathematics teaching, student learning, and the curriculum, with a focus on active learning opportunities. I have served as the principal investigator on two research grants from the National Science Foundation to investigate the effects of undergraduate mathematics coursework on teachers’ knowledge, skills, and classroom practices. My work has appeared in journals such as the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, the Journal of Teacher Education, and Mathematical Thinking and Learning.
