Japan remained a "close yet distant country" I rarely visited while in Korea. Despite the 30-hour round trip from the US, I felt extremely grateful to my university and the funding source for this opportunity. Our hosts made significant efforts to showcase their cuisine, culture, and distinctive long-term laboratory environments. Presenting both a poster and an oral presentation at the most prestigious international microwave conference proved rewarding, especially winning a presentation award—an achievement that filled me with pride.
