Dr. Heiddy DiGregorio is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She received her PhD from Villanova University, while both her MSN and BSN are from the University of Delaware. She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, and Certified Nurse Educator. Dr. DiGregorio teaches across the nursing curriculum ensuring best practices regarding simulation integration into health science curriculums.

Using her 35 years of nursing experience, Dr. DiGregorio focuses on research that includes simulated activities that influence undergraduate nursing student clinical practice competencies. Recent research projects include: interprofessional simulated multidisciplinary disaster drills, organizational skill development using multiple patient simulation, and using virtual reality immersion to develop psychomotor skills.

Dr. DiGregorio is the Director of Simulation and Interprofessional Education at the University of Delaware. She served on the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP) subcommittee working on revisions to the “Facilitation” standard; a member of the School of Nursing curriculum committee (2020-2022); will serve as chair of the School of Nursing curriculum committee (2022-2024); acts as a subject matter expert for NLN/Laerdal’s Fundamental’s vSim; serves on a regional simulation consortium; and is currently collaborating on the National League of Nursing Simulation Innovation Resource Center revision Evaluation course.
