Funding Opportunities

Purpose of Funding:

The purpose of this funding is to support current DPT students who will transition directly into a Ph.D. program following completion of the DPT program. Funding will support part of DPT tuition costs.

Requirements:

  1. Must be a second-year DPT student who has decided they will pursue the DPT to Ph.D. 
  2. Must be planning to transition into the Biomechanics & Movement Sciences (BIOMS) Program or the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Graduate (ING) program at UD following completion of the DPT.

Responsibilities of Funded Students:

  1. Students are expected to connect with Physical Therapy research faculty and engage in research through their funding period. At the time of funding application, students must apply to the BIOMS or ING PhD program. Students must be accepted to the Ph.D. program prior to the commencement of the funding.
  2. An activities report is due after the spring semester and then a final report after the fall semester. 
  3. Students must matriculate into the BIOMS or ING Ph.D. in spring year two of the DPT Program. 
  4. Students who withdraw or are dismissed from the DPT Program, the University, or decide not to pursue the DPT-Ph.D. pathway while receiving academic credit or financial aid will become responsible for tuition that semester.
