Dietary sugar study
for healthy adults aged 50 to 64

Researchers at the University of Delaware are conducting a research study for healthy men and healthy postmenopausal women aged 50 to 64 to better understand the effects of dietary sugar on brain health.
This study is a controlled feeding study and will require about 12 hours of your time over a 1.5-month period as well as up to 8 visits to the University of Delaware for testing. All food will be provided to you for two 10-day periods including both a high and low added sugar diet, and free information about your bloodwork, blood vessel health and brain health. Financial compensation is also provided.
Study Details
- Receive free food for 2 diets lasting 10 days each.
- Receive health information including bloodwork, blood vessel and brain health.
- Receive financial compensation up to $200.
- Blood work and blood vessel testing at Star Campus.
- MRI Scans at The Center for Biomedical and Brain Imaging.
- All study visits are at the University of Delaware and take place over approximately 3 months.
- Follow 2 different diets for 10 days each (food is provided and food preferences are considered).
- Attend 10 visits the University of Delaware plus food pickups.
You may be eligible to participate if you…
- Are a healthy man or woman aged 50 to 64.
- Have a normal body weight and blood pressure.
- Are a non-smoker in reasonably good health.
- Can attend visits at the University of Delaware
