Application for 2025-2026 Dietetic Internship

• September 1, 2024 – Early Action and Regular round applications open; applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.  Applicants are notified within 3 weeks of application submission if they are accepted, waitlisted, or denied admission.
• January 8, 2025 – Final Early Action application deadline for UD DPD, MS in Human Nutrition, or PhD in Nutritional Sciences students and graduates at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
• January 15, 2025– Final Regular Round application deadline at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
• January 22, 2025 – Last date Early Action applicants are notified of the acceptance decision
• February 1, 2025 – Last date for Early Action applicants to notify program director at bschwenk@udel.edu by 11:59pm Eastern Time if they wish to accept the admission offer
• February 15, 2025– Last date Regular Round applicants are notified of the acceptance decision
• March 15, 2025 – All applicants accepted during the Regular Round must notify the program director at bschwenk@udel.edu by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time if they wish to accept the admission offer
• May 31, 2025 – Distance Interns only: Deadline for submission of facility information for remainder of internship rotations

Mandatory 2025 Orientation Week: Early July. Exact dates TBA

Program Schedule

The following are the rotation lengths for each rotation of the internship with a minimum of 38 hours per week. Interns are expected to be present at their rotation sites Monday through Friday with the exception of the online class held on Tuesday mornings from 9:35-10:55 am Eastern Time.

Full-time
Orientation – 1 week
Clinical Nutrition – 12 weeks
Food Service Management – 7 weeks
Community Nutrition – 6 weeks
Elective – 3 weeks
Total 29 weeks

All rotations and assignments must be completed satisfactorily before a Verification Statement certifying program completion is issued.
