Amy Nelson, an Assistant Professor in the Epidemiology Program, is an infectious disease epidemiologist with a peripatetic career path. Her focus is on creating dynamic and relevant training materials for epidemiologists working in front-line public health. Before joining the University of Delaware she worked training state and local public health epidemiologists in the Southeastern United States and Central America, and has developed training used for influenza first responders across the globe. Dr. Nelson has lived and worked in Kenya, Nepal, and South Africa, and currently resides near Washington, DC.
