Backstage Pass Program

Backstage Pass is a new program (launched in fall 2019) that introduces UD and local high school students to classical music by incentivizing them to attend our world-class concert events. Through our partnerships with professors and local teachers, students are given free tickets to a concert and the opportunity to meet the artists face-to-face during an exclusive post-concert event with refreshments. The students are also invited to share their reactions to the concert on special post-it notes that can be posted on a “Share It!” board after the concert. Afterward, the students receive extra credit from their professors and teachers. The program’s goal is to educate the next generation of Americans through the experience of live music.

Many of the UD and local high school students who participated in Backstage Pass in fall 2019 and early spring 2020 reported an interest in attending more classical music concerts in the future. When the pandemic caused all in-person events to go virtual, Backstage Pass was reimagined as an interactive webinar series, “Backstage Pass Online.” We hope to bring Backstage Pass back to our students in its original, in-person form starting in spring 2022.

We hope you will consider supporting the Backstage Pass program by making a contribution to the Master Players Concert Series.
