Master Players Concert Series
Master Players Concert Series ("Master Players") serves as the cultural ambassador for the University of Delaware. Producing Artistic Director Xiang Gao, international artist and University of Delaware Trustees Distinguished Professor of Music, brings a rich and wide array of world-class musicians to the UD campus and to underserved local communities. The series' hallmarks are its high artistic standards, the Delaware debuts of remarkable artists, and its diverse and distinctive programming. Master Players, with the UD Resident Ensemble Players (a professional theatre company), is proud to offer a large variety of public performances in our numerous University venues and throughout the region. Master Players is co-sponsored by our long-term collaborating unit, the UD School of Music.
United Voices of America: Morgan State University Choir & UD Chorale
Saturday, October 5, 2024 | 8 P.M. ET | Mitchell Hall
100 minutes including intermission | Ages 10+ | In Person, Livestream or On Demand
The Morgan State University Choir is one of the nation's most prestigious University choral ensembles. Representing the largest historically Black college in Maryland, the ensemble has performed on six continents at the invitation of leading diplomats, worked with prominent orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and sung in historic locations such as Carnegie Hall and the White House. Following their popular debut with Master Players over a decade ago, the choir returns to UD to perform alongside the University of Delaware Chorale, winner of numerous national and international choral competitions and ambassador of UD choral excellence across the globe.
The choirs will perform a program celebrating the great traditions of American vocal music led by Morgan State University Choir's director Eric Conway and UD Chorale's Unidel Professor of Music Paul D. Head.
Note: The bathrooms of Gore Hall will be open to the public. (Please note it is the building next to Mitchell Hall, not Gore Recital Hall.)
